It’s still raining and cold at Chacra Millalen

view from our room

After breakfast we received our chores for the day and first up, Barry and I were on bathroom duty along with Lena.  The bathrooms were quite messy because of the rain so they needed a good cleaning.   No toilet paper is flushed down the toilet so all the used toilet paper is thrown into a bin next to the toilet.  Keep reading to find out what we do with the used toilet paper.

Late morning the rain began to lift and it was off to the garden.  Today we spent time weeding the vegetable garden and transplanting lettuces.  I was quite surprised to find that I found the weeding to be quite therapeutic.

Part of the fun each morning is gearing up for the work.  The boots are a fabulous asset and I love walking around the farmyard in mine.  The food is out of this world, fresh from the garden every day.

Not once since we’ve been here (writing this almost a week later) have we eaten the same meal twice.

Apart from being an organic farm Fabio and Josephine are vegetarians in summer and both Barry and I are surprised that we are not missing meat at this stage.  We also haven’t had any coffee, chocolates, fizzy drinks or processed food in almost a week and we are really feeling the health benefits.
