Where in the World is the Heart of Africa Now? Casa Rosada

outside Casa Rosada in Buenos Aires

So here we are outside Casa Rosada in Buenos Aires.  This is the government house or Presidential Palace.  The President of Argentina works here but doesn’t live here.

When we were in Buenos Aires 4 years ago we took a day tour of the city.  I do stand to be corrected, but I somehow recall them telling us that initially the buildings were painted in ox blood which gave it this pinkish appearance.  Nowadays however, this is not the case, but in keeping with tradition it is painted with modern paints but retaining the original colour.
